Welcome to Modern Magellan
My name is Tom Alex.I hail from Kerala which is in India. I am a cadet in Merchant Navy. I got in a university of name AMET(Academy of Maritime Education and Training). Its in Chennai. The programme i have been offered is called Higher National Diploma in Nautical Science(HND-NS) of duration 2 years.Its a twinning program with Glassgow College of Nautical Science(GCNS), Scotland , UK. I spend one year in AMET,Chennai and second year in GCNS,UK. So i will be spenting next two years studying.
The purpose of this blog is to serve as a medium where i can pin down my thoughts and details of Modern Magellan's journey around the world.
My college starts on August 25. Once my college starts i will start writing more on this blog.
Here are some journals and articles about Mariners life and other issues related to it. It also contains some diary journals written by few cadets ahead of my time.I did not write it but collected it from various sites using Google.
